Just one day before the "Tercer Regional de Robótica" (something like "Third Regional Robotics Competition")...which is a High Schools LEGO robot competition, but as University we help with the organization and we often show our stuff...we decide to give a shoot and try to put together, as quick as possible, a small traction test for Dandelion, with the new motors and wheels... :-S
..Once again, the REAL robotics team was under pressure...but is not more fun like that? :-)
That mean a simple power circuit (new batteries), power tests, chassis pieces replacements and adjustments (for the new motors)...
So, we start dividing tasks, Carlos and Oscar was going to be in charge of the new chassis pieces and adjustments and Alba and I on the power stuff, ...btw, Sebastian and Jonathan on charge of micro-dandelions (...also to show it on the event, more about that in a next post)...
...we get a new youngling, Felipe Fiebig, ..Alba is showing the arts of the force...
...guys working...
..the simple circuit..a Lipo battery 3.7v 6Amp and a killing switch..
...don't forget to get fun :-)
Sabastian doing a "marshmallow" :-)
Here the first power test...
...now feeling his weight...
Now, next day (which mean the same day of the event), just a couple of hours before the talk in which we was going to to show it), guys still working on chassis...
Of course, at last minute, some motor cables gets cut, here the chassis almost done with cables repair...
..and finally, it gets in place just minutes before the talk in which we was going to show it.. always better under pressure :-) ..wheels still needs adjustments..more stick cables to increase battery power, etc..Here a backstage test:
all very happy!! ..here a first obstacles test:
...Not as well as we was expecting, but we have to keep in mind that it is half power from batteries, and as we mention its needs adjustments on wheels, batteries and so on, still a work in progress but it shows lot of potential..
Guys and public very happy and the celebration next was even better :-) ...but that's another history..
More tests soon!
Cheers!
